Orthostatic hypotension can occur during treatment. Perform digital rectal exam & determine prostate specific antigen (PSA) before treatment & at regular intervals thereafter. Risk of intraoperative floppy iris syndrome (IFIS) during cataract & glaucoma surgery. Not recommended to initiate therapy in patients w/ scheduled cataract or glaucoma surgery. Should not be given in combination w/ strong CYP3A4 inhibitors in patients w/ poor metaboliser CYP2D6 phenotype. Use w/ caution in combination w/ strong & moderate CYP3A4 inhibitors. Patients w/ history of orthostatic hypotension; sulfonamide allergy. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Patients w/ severe renal impairment (CrCl <10 mL/min); severe hepatic dysfunction. For male patients only. No relevant indication in childn.
